drill + drill or drill press?
Maybe it was one of my Readers noticed, but in my workshop was a small bench drill is no longer really wanted to fit in the upgraded facility. This is a € 49.99 Hardware model which, however, has always performed his duties faithfully, albeit with restrictions. So it was a backlash of more than 1.5 mm at full travel advisable even in wood grains to the top of the wood drill a little support to give. Furthermore, the radius and the hub were very limited. So I knew what I had to look for when purchasing a stationary drill and it was exactly what prompted me to buy the following Bohr-maschinen/-ständer combination.
It is a fine BOP-2 two-speed drill and a drill rig with Wabeco cross table.
The horizontal arm allows a radius of about 25cm and 30cm, the vertical stroke is good. Using the stage and a milling motor (pictured here Kress 800 FME) can make it very easy long or short holes rows of holes. The ordinary projection also allows drilling in the face of long pieces which you can connect it to the front T-slot of the cross table. Until now, the use of this combination has proven to be very satisfactory and the result was always very precise. I had some drilling machines looked at, but each time was put off because of the Pinolenspiels and the small radius at a comparable price (+ / - 500, - €).
