When are smoke detectors required?

smoke detectors in Hamburg duty. The current Hamburg Building Regulations (HBauO § 45 paragraph 6) requires that in apartments, bedrooms, children's rooms and corridors (stairways), the escape routes to lounges lead must at least be equipped with smoke detectors.
All dwellings must not later than 31 December 2010 be equipped with smoke detectors. The company
GHG in Hamburg recommends all living rooms with smoke detectors to equip, as the use of the rooms through the apartment users are not always identical to its intended use.
The owner is responsible for the correct equipment.
